We need your time and skill to preserve our heritage site.
If you have a passion for heritage buildings, have time to spare, have a skill have a trade or if you are just passing by, I have a job for you. There are always tasks on the job board that can be traded for a room or RV site at the Smelters' Home Guest House in Burra.
How the Volunteer Approach Works
Everybody has a passion or a skill that they are willing to share. If your enthusiasm and or skill set match any of the projects or work listed below then I need you. The Smelters' Home comprises 17 rooms on a one acre block. There are two other major buildings; a huge shed which will become an antique store and a large stone barn with lean to that will become an event hire facility.
There are enough projects to last many many years. Many hands make light work and there really is a project for wide range of interests and skill sets. There is always cleaning, gardening and maintenance to do.
The trade agreements are flexible however are basically; 6 hours per week for a room in the Guest House with full amenities, 2 hours per week for RV sites.
