1849 Smelters' Home is an intriguing heritage building with many treasures. Come for a tour or visit the gallery while you are here.

Accommodation is available. We have a 3 bedroom cottage and RV camp on site for those wishing to stay longer and enjoy the other Back to Burra 180th activities throughout the month of May.

Repair a Chair is from 11am-2pm on Tuesday May 13. Participants are invited to choose a period piece of furniture to repair or restore. With such a wide variety of chairs on offer, there's a chair and a job to suit a range of interests and skills. Materials and tools will be provided. Repaired chairs may be purchased or donated back to Smelters' Home for another life. There is no cost for this event however donations are appreciated.
